Don’t try to live your life to the fullest

How tiring is that? Or just the sound of it stresses me out. Live life to the fullest! Ugh no, why? The blog, Wandering Earl (amazing travel blog that ultimately inspired me to pack up and leave to Prague for a year) posed the question if it’s even possible to live life to the fullest and his response was sad and thoughtful. He’s lived a life full of travel which would make one envious. But in a conversation with an awestruck friend he actually expressed a sadness that I can only describe as a longing for stability and security that long time travel simply doesn’t offer. It’s kind of a situation where we can’t have it all. Which IS sad. And leads us to think that the grass is greener on the other side. Or worse, we sometimes think if we had made a different decision our lives would be so much better than right now. Ohh but what a waste of time. Stop trying to live life to the fullest. Pretend you already have. Appreciate life as it is. There’s no perfect life, there is yours and it’s awesome and enough just the way it is. Have a good day!

“I’ll never know, and neither will you, of the life you don’t choose. We’ll only know that whatever that life was, it was important and beautiful but not ours. It was the ghost ship that didn’t carry us. There’s nothing to do but salute it from the shore.”
